Periodic maintenance and adjustment

To change the engine oil (with or wi-
thout oil lter cartridge replacement)
1. Place the vehicle on a at surface and
keep it upright.
2. Start the engine, warm it up for several
minutes, and then turn it o.
3. Place an oil pan under the engine to col-
lect the used oil.
4. Remove the engine oil ller cap, the en-
gine oil drain bolt and its gasket to drain
the oil from the crankcase.

TIP
Skip steps 5–7 if the oil lter cartridge is
not being replaced.
5. Remove the cover (1) and replace the
lter element.

TIP
Orient the oil lter correctly (like the pre-
vious one), otherwise the motor will be
seriously damaged.
6. Install the engine oil drain bolt and its
new gasket, and then tighten the bolt to
the specied torque.
7. Rell with the specied amount of the
recommended engine oil, and then install
and tighten the oil ller cap.
TIP
Be sure to wipe o spilled oil on any parts
after the engine and exhaust system have
cooled down.
Tightening torque:
