PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE
DECK WILL NOT
'WALK' DOWN
1. Foreign material in pit, blocking mechanism.
2. Side safety skirts badly damaged and jammed against
pit wall (when used).
3. Lifting arm cam roller knocked off cam, causing lifting
arm to jam against cam.
DECK IS VERY HARD
TO 'WALK' DOWN
1. Weather seals, skirts or deck dragging on pit wall.
2. Foreign material in pit.
3. Cam roller grooved badly by cam wear.
4. Cam roller bearing seized.
5. Lack of lubrication.
6. Lift springs adjusted improperly.
- tension has been mistakenly increased to
overcome another problem.
LIP DOES NOT
RELEASE AND SWING
DOWN WHEN TRUCK
DEPARTS
1. Lip lock seized. Does not swing down from locked
position.
- Lack of lubrication.
- Damaged by foreign material in pit.
2. Lip lock held in locked position by foreign material in
pit.
DECK DOES NOT
STAY DOWN.
SPRINGS BACK UP
AFTER WALKING
DOWN
1. Hold down cable broken.
2. Cable is extended and intact, but does not rewind.
- Foreign material in hold down box stopping
rotation of rewind wheel.
- Cable rewind spring broken.
- Cable out of place and jammed in hold down box.
3. Cable rewinds into hold down box, but does not lock.
- Pull chain or release lever jammed and not
returning to locked position.
- Foreign material lodged under release arm.
- Lock roller, wear strip and rewind wheel locking
surfaces worn from normal usage.
