PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE
LIP STRIKES REAR OF
TRUCK AS DECK
RAISES, DECK STOPS
OR SLOWS DOWN,
AND LIP DOES NOT
LOCK IN EXTENDED
POSITION
1. Damaged or missing dock bumpers allow the vehicle to
be parked to close to the dock leveler.
2. Height differential between dock and truckbed is
greater than recommended.
3. Lip actuator assembly damaged causing lip to begin
extending to early in the cycle.
4. Lip actuator requires adjustment.

DOCK BUMPER
DAMAGE THAT IS

1. Shunting tractors with raiseable fifth wheel damage
bumpers by causing excess vertical movement of rear
of trailer.
2. Air-ride suspension trailers can cause severe bumper
damage if the trailer is raised against the bottom of or
lowered on top of the bumper.
