to Pin Removal
Remove all blocking and lower the
hoisting equipment to allow the lip to
lower until the lip lock supports the lip in
its normal extended position, Figure 78.
Lubricate the lip hinge thoroughly.
Lower the maintenance strut. Grasp the
leading edge of the lip and pull the deck
down to approximately 6" above dock
height. Lift the tip of the lip
approximately 2" to release the lip lock
and then lower to its hanging position.
See Figure 79.
The lip is heavy, handle with care and be
aware of pinch points.
Walk the deck down to stored position.
At this time, test operate the unit, paying
particular attention to the effort required
to walk the deck down from its fully
raised, lip extended position. The main
spring tension may have been increased
to compensate for damaged lip, hinge,
etc. If the deck is too hard to walk down
and the lip extends with excessive force,
reduce the main spring tension, equal
counterclockwise turns on each of the
four adjusting nuts, until satisfactory
operation is achieved.
If further adjustment is required, see the
'Trouble Shooting’ section of this manual,
Group 04, Section 01, Pages 1 and 2.
