PROPELLER SHAFT COMPONENTS
• Install the clutch dog shifter with the mark “F” toward the
forward gear side.
• Apply gear oil to the following parts.
• Push rod pin
• Push rod
• Clutch dog shifter sliding area of the propeller shaft
• Reverse gear thrust washer
• Reverse gear
• Reverse gear backup shim
• Propeller shaft bearings
HPF XR Gearcase Lubricant
• Apply Triple-Guard grease to the O-ring and the oil seals of
the bearing housing.
Triple-Guard Grease
• Install the propeller shaft / housing assembly to the gear-
case and tighten the two bolts to the specified torque after
applying Nut Lock to the bolts.
Nut Lock
Propeller shaft bearing housing bolt:
8 N·m (0.8 kg-m; 6.0 lb-ft)
