The VFC-3000 controller Power
LED is on, but nothing else is on.
The controller’s software is lost
or corrupted.
Using the M2 Cong utility,
connect to the central control
port (J8) and download new
software.
One line of modules in the
display does not respond
correctly—no LEDs will light,
they are garbled, they are too
bright or too dim, etc.
The VFC-3000 controller is
improperly congured.
Verify the VFC-3000 controller
conguration matches the
display.
A problem exists in the display,
possibly with the driver
connections.
Refer to the display manual.
The VFC-3000 controller is
malfunctioning in ways not
otherwise covered in these
troubleshooting charts.
There has been an internal
hardware malfunction.
Replace the VFC-3000
controller.
The central controller cannot
communicate with any
displays.
Central software is not running. Run the software.
Central software network
settings are incorrect.
Ensure the network settings in
the software are correct.
Power to modems is not on.
Turn the power to the modems
on.
The RS232 cable from the
central controller computer to
the modem is not connected
or is bad.
Connect or replace the cable.
The central controller software
that is running is corrupted.
Reboot the central controller.
The central controller
computer is bad.
Replace the computer.
The central controller can only
communicate with 1 display
(if the system contains multiple
displays).
The modem at the site is bad. Replace the modem.
The central software network
settings are incorrect.
Ensure the network settings in
the software are correct.
The software version in the
VFC-3000 controller is wrong.
Update with the correct
version.
The serial port on the VFC-3000
controller is bad.
Replace the VFC-3000
controller.
