Measure resistance up to 10 times,
between Kelvin Cable and "DUT
CASE" lead. The OFFSET calibration
is subtracted from all measurements.
For the first measurement, the Kelvin
Cable should be connected to a PE
equipotential stud located near the
DUT, and the "DUT CASE" lead
connects to the DUT itself. For
subsequent measurements, the Kelvin
Cable may be re-attached at arbitrary
locations on the DUT to confirm
continuity of PE between the Kelvin
Cable and "DUT CASE" lead.
PE test of permanently-installed
equipment, followed by continuity test of
earthed metal parts on the equipment.
Example: test of X-RAY equipment.
YES YES YES
Measure resistance between Kelvin
Cable and the test socket of
ES601Plus, one time. After this
measurement, the user disconnects
the DUT line cord from ES601Plus
and connects the "DUT CASE" lead
to the DUT.
For measurement #2, 3, 4... , the
resistance between the Kelvin Cable
and "DUT CASE" lead is then
measured, with the OFFSET
calibration being subtracted to obtain
the results. The Kelvin Cable and test
lead may be moved to arbitrary points
of attachment and up to 9 additional
resistance measurements are acquired.
These additional measurements
confirm continuity of PE between the
Kelvin Cable and "DUT CASE" lead.
PE test of cord-connected equipment,
followed by continuity test of earthed
metal parts on the equipment.
Example: test of a hospital bed.
Only those combinations shown in the above table are permitted by ES601Plus; other combinations
of settings are inhibited.
