4. Alternatively, with switchboard control deactivated, increase or decrease the load, and observe the response of the
reactive power to the regulator. Use the observation to tune the regulator.
6.5.3 Tuning for reactive power load sharing
To tune the reactive power load sharing, the genset and at least one other genset must be connected to the busbar. The
regulation of the other genset must be stable.
Tune the reactive power load sharing regulation using the Tuning P regulation procedure for relay outputs, and Tuning PID
regulation for analogue outputs.
Create reactive power changes during tuning as follows:
1. Identify loads with a reactive power component (that is, the power factor must not be 1.0).
2. Increase or decrease the load, and observe the response of the reactive power to the regulator. Use the observation to
tune the regulator.
Q weight
If Q weight is 100 %, the controller ignores the voltage set point to achieve the reactive power set point. If Q weight is 0 %,
the controller ignores the reactive power set point, to achieve the voltage set point.
