7.6 PLC
7.6.1 Testing the PLC
The controllers are designed to work with a PLC. As part of the commissioning, the PLC and its interactions with the
controllers should be thoroughly tested.
The testing of the PLC depends on the system and the specific functions and/or sequences created by the customer. DEIF
cannot therefore give any specific guidelines on testing the PLC.
CAUTION
DEIF cannot take responsibility for the PLC.
7.7 Failure scenarios
7.7.1 Testing blackout close
You can configure the controller to allow the breaker to close even though there is a blackout. The blackout close testing
depends on the configuration.
For a GENSET controller, to test the blackout close:
1. Make sure that at least one genset is ready to connect, and that this GENSET controller is in LOCAL mode.
2. Create a blackout by disconnecting all the gensets.
3. Press Close breaker
to close the genset breaker. Does the breaker close?
Yes: The blackout close is working.
No: Troubleshoot the blackout close.
See
GENSET controller, Generator breaker, Generator breaker blackout close flowchart in the Designer's
handbook for more information.
