Gas Connections
Connecting to pipeline gas supply
1 Screw the gas supply pipeline delivery hoses for O2,
AIR, N2O, and VAC into the respective inlet ports on
the back of the gas supply block. (The two ports at
the front of the gas supply block are reserved for the
backup gas cylinders.)
Connect the other end of the high pressure gas deli-
very hoses to the wall or ceiling gas outlets.
The table below shows color codes of gas
connections:
Ensure that the gas pressures of the gas supply
pipeline are between 270 and 550 kPa
(39 psi and 80 psi):
2 All pipeline pressure displays must be in the specified
range.
The pressure displays light up when the Julian
workstation is connected to line power.
USA Canada
O2 green white
AIR yellow black/white checkered
N2O blue blue
VAC magenta magenta
WARNING !
Each time you connect a machine to a wall or
ceiling gas outlet carefully check hoses to
ensure that both ends of the hose are indexed
for the same gas. Pipeline delivery hoses used
between wall outlets and anesthesia
machines have caused accidents when,
during assembly, an oxygen fitting was placed
on one end of the hose and a nitrous oxide
fitting on the other end.
WARNING !
Always use medical grade gases that are dry
and free from dust and oil. Contaminated gas
may cause system malfunction.
