19.4.1 Setting the distance of the transport clamps to the folder sole
(manually)
Fig. 129: Setting the distance of the transport clamps to the folder sole (1)
Proper setting
There must be a specific distance between the outer edges of the folder
sole (2) and the inner edges of the transport clamps (1). The distance for
moderately heavy sewing material should be approx. 1.0 mm to 1.5 mm.
This distance is necessary to ensure both uniform piping widths and
unhindered transport of the sewing material.
To set the distance of the transport clamps to the folder sole:
1. Check the loading process and the distance between the outer edges
of the folder sole (2) and the inner edges of the transport clamps (1).
2. Lower the folder.
3. Uncouple the locking plates.
The locking plates are connected by the blue cable.
4. Insert a sheet of white paper.
Information
A sheet of white paper boosts contrast significantly, making it easier to
discern the distance between folder sole and transport clamps.
5. Lower transport clamps and folder.
