8. Insert the throat plate (7).
Make sure the holding lug (3) is positioned in the opening of the throat
plate.
The distance between the upper side of the holding lug (3) and the
underside of the throat plate (4) must range between 0.9 - 1 mm.
If the distance is not 0.9 - 1 mm, check if the hook was pushed down
all the way while being tightened or if dust and thread remnants have
accumulated below the hook.
7.2 Setting the loop stroke

Proper setting
The loop stroke is the distance the needle bar travels from bottom dead
center to the point where the hook tip (2) is level with the middle of the
needle (1). The loop stroke is 2 mm.
(3) - Holding lug (4) - Throat plate
0.9 - 1 mm
(1) - Needle groove (2) - Hook tip
