Installation
Water and hydraulic system
Heating water quality
Fill the installation with
drinking water.
In most cases, a central heating
installationcanbelledwithwater
according to the nationally valid
regulations,wherebyatreatmentofthe
water is not necessary.
Toavoidproblems,thequalityof
thellingwatermustconformtothe
requirementsinTable1.
Ifthellingwatershouldnotconform
to these requirements, then it is
recommended to treat the water
correspondingly (see VDI2035).
Warrantyclaimsbecomeinvalidifthe
systemhasnotbeenushedduring
installation,orifthellingwater
quality does not conform to the ELCO
requirements(seeTable1).
Ifanythingshouldnotbeclear,or
in case of deviations, always take
upcontactwithELCOrst.The
warranties lapse, if any changes are
made without an advance agreement/
releasebyELCO.
Installation:
- The use of groundwater,
demineralized water and distilled
water, is not permitted (an
explanationofthesetermscanbe
found on the next page).
- If the drinking water quality lies
within the limits of the values in
Table1,thenonecanproceed
with the installation of the
systemandtheushingofthe
equipment.
- Residues of corrosion products
(magnetite),assemblymaterials,
cuttingoilandotherundesirable
products,mustberemovedduring
theushingoperation.
- Anotherpossibilityforremovingdirt
istheuseofalter.Theltertype
mustconformtothesystem-specic
requirements and the type of
contamination. ELCO recommends
theuseofalter.
In such a case, one should make
sure to take the entire piping
system into consideration.
- The central heating installation must
bede-aeratedproperly,beforeitis
taken into operation. Please review
the Chapter “Commissioning”
in this regard.
- If a regular topping up of water
is required (> 5% per year), then
thereisaproblemwiththesystem
thatmustberectiedbyacertied
technician. Regular topping up
with fresh water and oxygen adds
lime to the system, which leads
to deposits.
- If an anti-frost agent or other
additivesareused,thenitmustbe
regularly checked to ensure that the
llingwaterqualityconformstothe
manufacturer requirements.
- Inhibitorsmayonlybeusedafter
consultation with ELCO.
- Theuseofsuchagentsmustbe
protocolled.
Floor heating
Whenaoorheatingsystemis
connected that uses plastic pipes, it
mustbeensuredthatitconformstothe
standard DIN 4726-4729. If the system
doesnotfullthestandard,thena
systemseparationmustbeforeseen.
If the regulations with regard to
plastic piping are not observed, then
warranty claims become null and
void (see the warranty conditions).
