3.4 Grounding information
Grounding of intrinsically safe circuits is not required when connected to associated apparatus having galvanic
isolation between intrinsically safe circuit and all the other circuits. Should grounding be necessary, for functional
reasons, only one point of the intrinsically safe circuit must be grounded.
In case of using shielded cables, proper shield grounding (if needed) shall be provided at one point only. Metallic
enclosures of field devices must be grounded.
