• Place of use
The wheelchair should only be used on level ground, on smooth terrain, in a dry environment and
indoors. The ergoflix can be used outdoors on pavements and has protection class IPX4. This
means that the wheelchair is splash-proof. Please also note the legal regulations of the country in
which you use the wheelchair.
• Protective devices
The wheelchair may only be operated with the protective devices intact. All protective devices
must be checked regularly to ensure that they are in the correct condition and functioning pro-
perly. After all maintenance and repair work, all protective devices must be reinstalled before the
device can be used.
• Cleaning, care, maintenance and repair
General cleaning, care and maintenance on the wheelchair may only be carried out by persons
who have read these operating instructions. Repair work may only be carried out by specially
trained service personnel or the dealer's customer service, unless it concerns the replacement of
components. This work may only be carried out when the equipment is switched off (see section
"8 Maintenance of the wheelchair" on page 46).
Intended use also includes:
• Operation with the operating module intact.
• Observance of all instructions from the operating instructions, in particular the safety
and warning instructions.
• Timely execution of maintenance and repair.
• Any other use or use above what is specified is deemed to be improper use.
Manufacturers and dealers are not liable for any resulting damage.
2.2. Improper use
There is a risk of injury from improper use.
If the equipment is not used as intended, there may be a risk to persons.
The equipment may only be used as described in section "2.1 Intended use".
Any use deviating from this may result in dangers to persons and property and is not permitted.
Not intended means, among other things:
• Operation by unauthorised persons.
• Operation by persons who are sick, fatigued, or under the influence of substances or medications
that impair their visual perception, coordination, or judgment.
• Operation with a defective electrical installation.
• Operation in severe external weather conditions or in a wet condition.
• Operation in baths and saunas.
• Cleaning and care using running water.
• Operation on very uneven ground and in extremely rough terrain.
• Operation on escalators and stairs.
• Operation by unsupervised minors.
• Transport of more than 1 person.
