2. Safety
The equipment has been designed and built in compliance with all binding legal regulations and
recognised safety rules. It corresponds to the state of the art when it was first placed on the market.
Nevertheless, dangers can arise for the operator, for other persons, for the equipment itself and for
other property.
The "Safety" chapter must always be observed when handling and operating the equipment. Read
the chapter carefully and make sure that you have understood all the safety instructions. Otherwise,
do not operate the equipment.
NOTE
Safe handling of the equipment
For safe handling of the wheelchair, please refer to the instructions
in this section and in other sections of this operating instructions.
The manufacturer of the equipment accepts no liability for perso-
nal injury or damage to property resulting from failure to observe
the safety instructions.
2.1. Indication / Contraindication
Mechanical and electrical dangers occur during operation of the equipment. In order to avoid resul-
ting dangers, the equipment may only be used as intended. Unauthorised modifications can have a
negative impact on safety and invalidate the conformity issued by the manufacturer.
The equipment is only to be used within the scope of its intended use, for the independent or ac-
companied movement of people
- with health or age-related walking impairments or disabilities
- with significantly reduced strength and gripping function of the arms/hands
- with sufficient orientation and coordination skills
- to ensure mobility indoors and outdoors (reaching the immediate vicinity and carrying out everyday
tasks).
The physical and mental condition, the age of the user, the personal living conditions and the private
environment must also be taken into account when providing individualised care. This applies both
to the user of the electric wheelchair and to the accompanying person who is in control of it.
The electric wheelchair must not be used and/or controlled if the person in control:
- is using and under the influence of impairing medication
- has severe balance and/or perception disorders.
All work on the equipment (assembly, commissioning, operation, maintenance, care) may only be
carried out by persons who have read these operating instructions.
The wheelchair may only be used in the following ways:
Operation
The wheelchair may only be operated by persons who have read the operating instructions. These
persons must be physically able to operate the wheelchair safely (e. g. drive, steer, brake) and
observe all warnings in these operating instructions.
