9.5 Advanced options
The Options tab of AxiDraw Control has several useful settings and options.
Auto-rotate page when printing (Default: on)
Documents taller than wide (those in portrait orientation) are normally rotated
sideways when plotted. (See §6.3 Document orientation, on page 26 for ex-
amples.) To force documents to always print in the same orientation as on your
screen, uncheck this box.
Use constant speed when pen is down (Default: o)
When checked, disable acceleration and move the pen at a constant speed when
it is down. This will give neater performance for certain types of paths, but cre-
ates more vibration when going around curves. It gives more uniform but less
“natural” ink flow.
Report time elapsed (Default: o)
When checked, a dialog box will report the elapsed time and pen-travel distance
after each plot finishes. This option is particularly useful in preview mode.
Plot optimization (Default: None; preserve file order):
If enabled, elements in the document may be re-ordered to reduce plotting time.
This option is discussed in §9.7 Plot order and optimization, on page 49.
