• Make sure that the reflectors are fitted
correctly and that they are not cover-
ed by other components, clothes or
accessories.
• Before every journey, check that the
reflectors are properly and securely
fastened, clean and free of damage.
• Do not make modifications to the re-
flectors. Replace defective reflectors
or have them repaired.
If you wish to use your FLYER mountainbike on
public roads, you will need to ask your FLYER de-
alertotthenecessaryactiveequipment(head-
light and rear light). Pay attention to the general
information on lighting in the section below.
FLYER with pedal assist up to 25 km/h and
crossover bikes
Basicsettings:Switchothelightbypressingthe
light button. Switch the light back on by pressing
the light button again.
Switching between low beam/daytime running
light: Automatic switching based on the integrated
light sensor.
Generalinformationonlighting
Do not use the high beam when vehicles
are coming the other way. You should
alsoavoidusingyourhighbeamintrac
queues, in built-up areas or around pe-
destrians.
If your FLYER has a brake light, check it
regularly to make sure that it is working
properly and consult your FLYER spe-
cialist retailer if you are unsure or have
a problem.
The daytime running light is only to be
used for signalling to other road uses
andisswitchedonandoindependent-
ly by a sensor.
Cleanyourreectorsandlightsonareg-
ular basis. Warm water with cleaning
uid or washing up liquid is suitable
here.
The lighting system is a safety-related
component and it is vital that it is in prop-
er working condition. Check that it is
working correctly and safely at regular
intervals.
Only allow authorised FLYER specialist
retailers to perform checks and servicing
work after failures or temporary prob-
lems!
19. Mudguard
Some mudguard modelsaretted with a safety
fastening in case an object jams between the
mudguard and the tyre.
This releases the mudguard from its holder to
prevent a fall.
You must stop riding immediately if a foreign body
is trapped between the tyre and the mudguard.
Remove the foreign object before beginning to
ride again. Otherwise, there is a risk of falls and
serious injuries.
You may under no circumstances ride
with a loose mudguard strut, as the strut
may jam in the wheel and block it. The
loose ends of the holders may lead to
serious accidents.
Damaged mudguards must be replaced by a
FLYER specialist retailer before you ride again.
You should also regularly check whether the brac-
esarexedsecurelyinthesafetyreleases.
20. Accessories and
equipment
Installing accessories correctly and checking their
compatibility with the FLYER are the responsibili-
ty of the cyclist/buyer.
Only accessories listed in the FLYER catalogue
are approved for use with the FLYER by FLYER
AG. Check the accessories’ compatibility with your
FLYERmodelandthetechnicalspecications(e.g.
maximumload,installationinstructions,etc.).
Always install accessories according to
the regulations and instructions.
• Only use add-on parts that comply
with the respective legal regulations
androadtracregulations.
• The use of unauthorised accessories
may lead to accidents, severe falls
and damage. You should therefore
only use original accessories and
add-onpartswhichtyourFLYER.
