Auf dem Typenschild Ihres FLYER E-Bikes befinden sich Symbole für das
Einsatzgebiet des Pedelecs. Mehr Informationen finden Sie Im Kapitel 8

Das Pedelec ist für Fahrten auf asphaltierten und gepflasterten Straßen geeignet. Das Pedelec ist nicht für
Geländefahrten und Sprünge geeignet.
Das Pedelec ist für Fahrten auf asphaltierte Straßen, Fahrradwege und gut befestigte Schotterwege geeignet,
sowie für längere Strecken mit mäßiger Steigung sowie Sprünge bis zu 15 cm.
Das Pedelec ist für Fahrten auf asphaltierte Straßen, Fahrradwege und leichte bis anspruchsvolle
Geländefahrten, Strecken mit mäßiger Steigung und Sprünge bis zu 61 cm geeignet.
Das Pedelec ist für Fahrten auf asphaltierte Straßen, Fahrradwege und leichte bis anspruchsvolle
Geländefahrten, eingeschränkter Downhill-Einsatz bis zu 25 km und Sprünge bis zu 122 cm geeignet.
Das Pedelec ist für Fahrten auf asphaltierte Straßen, Fahrradwege und leichte bis schwerste Geländefahrten,
uneingeschränkten Downhill-Einsatz und jederlei Sprünge geeignet.
Bedeutung Einsatzgebiet
Genehmigungsnummer für S-Pedelecs mit Tretunterstüzung bis
45km/h
An Stelle des Typenschilds finden Sie bei FLYER S-Pedelecs die Genehmigungsnummer des
TÜV für S-Pedelecs im EWR. Die Genehmigungsnummer befindet sich auf dem Rahmen.
In der Schweiz ist an Stelle der Genehigungsnummer lediglich das Typenlabel mit der
Anschrift des Herstellers zu finden. Das Typenlabel ist auf dem Rahmen ihres FLYER
E-Bikes zu finden.
FLYER Upstreet and FLYER Got-
our are suitable for riding on tar-
mac roads and well-compacted
gravel roads, as well as for longer
routes with a moderate incline and
jumps of up to 15 cm. (See Chap-
ter 8.4 for a description of the
range of use.)
Any liability or warranty provided by the FLYER
retailer or manufacturer will not apply if you do
not use the product as intended or if you do
not observe the safety information. The same
applies if the FLYER is overloaded, ridden on
unsuitable terrain or if defects are unprofessio-
nally dealt with. The guidelines for servicing and
care must also be observed in order to retain lia-
bility and warranty. Your FLYER is not designed
towithstandextremeuse,e.g.ridingdownstairs
or over jumps, performing tricks or stunts, or ta-
king part in unauthorised competitions.
Before riding on public roads with your FLYER,
inform yourself about the current riding regula-
tions in your country. Only ride on pathways and
trails that are permitted for vehicles.
If you own a fast FLYER city bike with assistance
up to 45 km/h, then please read the S-pedelec
section below for information on the use of your
motor vehicle.
S-Pedelecs in all categories are, in legal
terms, motor vehicles with assistance up
to 45 km/h and may only be used on ro-
ads and cycle paths designed for motor
vehicles of category L1e. Please read
the information provided in Chapter 7 on
EU-model S-pedelecs.
9.1 RidingyourE-MTBresponsibly
When you are out on your FLYER E-MTB, make
sure to ride responsibly and consider nature, the
environment and your fellow humans.
Considerate actions preserve the natural en-
vironment in which you practise your sport and
ensureconict-freeinteractionswithotherusers.
Therefore, please observe the following rules:
• Only ride on marked paths so as not to dam-
age the natural environment. Accept route clo-
sures, riding bans and wildlife protection areas
astheyexistforareason.
• Only brake with locking wheels in an emergen-
cy, as this can cause soil erosion and damage
to paths.
• Ride in a controlled and careful manner at an
appropriate speed. You must always be able to
brake within your range of vision in case obsta-
cles, other bikers or pedestrians appear.
• Announce your presence in good time if you
wish to overtake someone else. Do not sur-
prise them and pass them slowly or brake.
• Look out for grazing animals and animals in
forests and elds. Do not leave any country
gates open if you pass through them and do
not ride in the forest after dark so as not to dis-
turb animals looking for food or sleeping.
• Plan your tour thoroughly and observe the
weather forecast. Be aware of your capabilities,
take them into account when choosing a route
and take all necessary equipment with you. This
includes tools, provisions andarst-aid kit for
unexpectedsituations.Wearappropriateequip-
ment (helmet, protectors) for your safety.
• Do not leave behind any rubbish.
Wear protectors and a helmet for your
safety.
Keep body parts and clothing away from
chain rings, the moving chain and rotat-
ing pedals, cranks and gears.
Wear light-coloured, clearly visible cloth-
ingthatis sucientlyclose-ttingsoas
not to get caught on moving parts of the
bike or on objects on the road or trail.
10. Beforetherstride
Ensure that the E-Bike is ready for use and ad-
justedtotyourbody.
This includes:
• Settingthepositionandxtureoftheseatand
handlebars
• Adjusting the brakes
• Securing the wheels into the frame and fork
Any parts that are not supplied already assem-
bled should be tted by a FLYER specialist re-
tailer.
Have the saddle set to a safe and comfortable
position (see Chapter 13.2).
Have the brake handles set by the FLYER special-
ist retailer so that you can reach them easily at all
times and can use the brake without getting tired.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the brake le-
vers connected to the front and back wheels – the
left brake lever is usually for the front wheel and
the right lever is usually for the back one! Howev-
