System Configuration
vSphere accesses VVOLs through Protocol Endpoints (PE). The server recognizes PEs as logical vol-
umes. VVOLs are created in a pool called a storage container. Storage containers and VVOLs corre-
spond to FTRPs and FTVs of the
ETERNUS DX.

PEs are control volumes to integrally manage multiple VVOLs.
● Storage Container (VVOL Datastore)
Storage containers are pools for creating VVOLs. The
ETERNUS DX uses FTRPs as storage contain-
ers. Multiple storage containers can be created in the ETERNUS DX.
● VVOL
VVOLs are logical volumes that are created in FTRPs. Multiple VVOLs can be created in a storage
container.
