The LCD or the [Scan/Enter] Button or Both Turn Off [fi-8190/fi-8290/fi-8170/

Check the following points
● Has the scanner been left out of operation for a long time after being powered on? (page 286)
If the problem still persists, check each item in Before You Contact the Scanner Service Provider (page
330) first, then contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this product. Refer to the contact
information in the Contact List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact information in the
Contact for Inquiries section if provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and then make an
inquiry.
● Has the scanner been left out of operation for a long time after being powered on?
Solution
The scanner has entered power saving mode or has been automatically turned off.
● If the scanner has entered power saving mode
The LCD turns off and the [Scan/Enter] button flashes in green.
Resume from power saving mode by one of the following methods:
- Load a document in the ADF paper chute (feeder).
- Press any button on the scanner (except the [Power] button).
- Scan a document with the image scanning application.

● If the scanner has been automatically turned off
Both the LCD and the [Scan/Enter] button turn off.
Turn on the scanner.
