5.3.2 Configuration without ServerStart
Configuring IME (RAID Level 1)
The server is equipped with an onboard SAS controller with Integrated Mirroring
Enhanced functionality.
I To configure Integrated Mirroring Enhanced the controller has its own
RAID-Select Utility. For further information see “Integrated Mirroring
User’s Guide“ on the ServerBooks DVD (choose Controllers from the
menu).
Configuring the onboard SAS controller with RAID functionality
You will find a description of the onboard SAS controller configuration in the
Technical Manual for the system board (see “Related Publications” on
page 103).
The configuration of the RAID functionality will be accomplished with the GAM
(Global Array Manager).(see “Related Publications” on page 103)
Configuring the PCI RAID controller
If your server is fitted with a PCI RAID controller, you must configure it as
described in the related documentation.
Installing the operating system
Ê Insert the installation media ofthe operating system you want to install in the
corresponding drive.
Ê Reboot the server.
Ê Follow the instructions on the monitor and in the manual for the operating
system.

desired operating system in the related manual.
