8 Specimen Lighting (Option)
As specimen lighting, two types of LED lamps are available:
•
LED lamp with a beam angle of 10° for camera lenses with a focal
length of 75 mm
•
LED lamp with a beam angle of 30° for camera lenses with a focal
length of 24 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm and 75 mm
This specimen lighting is suitable for illumination areas up to a maximum
size of approx. 500 mm x 400 mm. Higher frame rates and/or larger meas‐
uring volumes may require additional illumination.
Info
Do not position the lamps above or below the cameras. The lamps must
be positioned next to the cameras during operation.
8.1 Adjust the Polarizing Filters for the Specimen
Lighting
Use the polarizing filters to avoid disturbing shiny points in the camera
images.
Both, the light source and the camera lenses have to be equipped with a
polarizing filter.
Ensure that the angles between camera direction and spotlight direction
are large enough in order to avoid disturbing reflections from the begin‐
ning.
Info
Note that the polarizing filters can reduce the amount of light captured by
the camera to 10-20 % of the output power.
