Network adapters
An OCP network adapter can be installed in slot 8, 16, or 17. For information about the slots for OCP
network adapters, see Figure 61. If you install only one OCP network adapter, install it in slot 16 as a
best practice.
The OCP network adapters in slots 16 and 17 support hot swapping.
To hot swap an OCP network adapter, follow these restrictions and guidelines:
OCP network adapters installed before the server is powered on support hot swapping. Make
sure the replaced network adapter and the newly installed network adapter are the same
model.
OCP network adapters installed after the server is powered on do not support hot swapping. To
replace such an OCP network adapter, first power off the server, replace the OCP network
adapter, and then power on the server.
For operating systems that support hot swapping of OCP network adapters, use the component
compatibility lookup tool at http://www.h3c.com/en/home/qr/default.htm?id=66
.
To install a standard PCIe network adapter, a riser card is required. For more information about riser
card and PCIe module compatibility, see "Riser card and PCIe module compatibility."
GPU modules
For information about configuration guides for the power cords of GPU modules, contact Technical
Support.
To install FHFL dual-width GPU modules, install them to slots as shown in Table 27, as a best
practice, and follow these guidelines:
Install GPU modules in PCIe slots with x16 bus bandwidth.
If the number of GPU modules is equal to or smaller than 3, install the GPU modules to riser
cards.
If the number of GPU modules is equal to 4, install the GPU modules to the rear 4GPU module.
To install FHFL single-width GPU, install them to slots as shown in Table 28, as a best practice, and
follow these guidelines:
Install GPU modules in PCIe slots with x16 bus bandwidth.
If the number of GPU modules is equal to or smaller than 3, install one GPU to each riser card.
If the number of GPU modules is equal to or greater than 4, install two RC-3FHFL-2U-G6 riser
cards and install two GPU modules to each riser card as a best practice.
To install HHHL single-width GPU, install them to slots as shown in Table 29, as a best practice, and
follow these guidelines:
If the number of GPU modules is equal to or greater than 8, you can install GPU modules to
PCIe slots with x8 bus bandwidth. In other cases, install GPU modules to PCIe slots with x16
bus bandwidth.
If the number of GPU modules is greater than 10, install GPU modules to the mid GPU module.
