When transporting the outboard
motor on a vehicle, perform the
following.
Screw the lifting eye into the hole
in the center of the starter pulley
until the threaded section is no
longer visible from outside.
Set the hoist hook against the
lifting eye and hang the outboard
motor to remove it from the boat.
Remove the engine cover (see
page ), and drain the carburetor
(see page ).
Unlock the three clips and loosen
the four cover bolts, then remove
the timing beltcover (see page ).
