Troubleshooting Starting Problems
STARTING THE ENGINE
SYMPTOM
Starter motor doesn’t turn over. Shift lever/control lever not in neutral position.
Blown fuse.
Weak battery.
Starter motor turns but the engine
doesn’t start.
Engine flooded.
Priming bulb not squeezed.
Vent knob not open.
Out of fuel.
Emergency stop switch clip is not engaged.
Set shift lever/control lever in neutral position.
Replace fuse.
Start using emergency starter rope.
Engage the emergency stop switch clip.
Supply fuel.
Open vent knob.
Squeeze priming bulb to supply fuel.
Clean and dry spark plug.
