Tilting the Motor
When cruising in shallow water
with the outboard motor tilted up,
be sure that the water is flowing
out of the cooling water check hole.
Do not tilt up the outboard motor
using the tiller handle.

Move the shift lever to the
NEUTRAL position and stop the
engine.
Tilt the motor to prevent the
propeller and gear case from hitting
bottom when the boat is beached or
stopped in shallow water.
Move the tilt lever to the TILT
position.
Hold the engine cover grip and
raise the motor. (The outboard
motor can be tilted stagelessly.)
With the outboard motor tilted up
at the designated position, move
the tilt lever to the RUN (lock)
position to lock the motor in the
position.
