GEAR OIL CHECK PLUG
Install and tighten the check plug
securely.
Remove the check plug and see if
oil flows out.
Position the outboard motor
vertically.
20 operating hours after the date of
purchase or first month for initial
replacement, then every 100
operating hours or 6 months.
SAE 90 Hypoid gear oil or
equivalent, API Service
Classification (GL-4 or GL-5)
If there is water in the oil, the
water will flow out first when the
drain plug is removed, or the oil
will be a milky color. Consult with
an authorized Honda outboard
motor dealer.
