9 Mounting and installation informations
The unit must be mounted to a flat surface using suitable fasteners (screws and dowels).
Avoid mechanical stressing.
The unit may only be operated when it has been mounted to a wall or other surface with
sufficient carrying capacity.
Do not install the system in operating areas with harmful effects. Parts of the fire alarm
system may only be carried through such operating areas if they satisfy the requirements
laid down in VDE 0800.
Wall-mounted modules and visual displays must be installed no lower than 1400 mm and
no higher than 1800 mm above the surface on which the operator stands.
Avoid strong electric or magnetic fields. Do not install the unit, system components, or
cables near fluorescent lamps or power cables. Do not mount the unit on vibrating or
unstable surfaces, e.g. light partition walls.
The device is not suitable for connection to an IT power supply system.
Installer / Installation Specialist
The fire alarm control panel must be installed by a skilled electrician (according to DIN VDE
0833), who, as a result of the appropriate training and experience, can evaluate the work to be
carried out and recognise potential dangers. In addition to the specialist qualifications,
knowledge of the validity and application of the relevant standards and their use and
compliance with is required.
Danger – Electrical shock !
Remove all power from the device before carrying out any installation work!
ESD protection
While handling electronic assemblies, the necessary precautions against
electrostatic discharge must be taken.
Protective and functional earth
The PE conductor must be connected to the corresponding terminal at the mains
supply. Connect the FE terminal of the panel’s cabinet with the protective earthing
rail (PE rail) of the power
distributor panel from which the fire alarm system will be
powered.
Commissioning
A complete system check must be carried out after commissioning and for each
modification of the customer data programming!
