Please note:
¾ When tightening the screws, especially with
a new assembly, the fan wheel will move
towards the protective grill.
¾ A loose 󰘱ange must therefore be aligned
closer to the hydraulic motor.
¾ The clamping faces must be free of oil and
grease.
¾ The clamping screws must be tightened uni-
formly and in several steps. Tightening onto
the taper should be supported by light ham-
mer blows on the 󰘱ange (plastic hammer or
hammer shaft).
¾ The inch screws in design No. 10 - 24 4.6 must
only be tightened with a torque of max. 6.8 Nm.
¾ After tightening check the impeller for free and
even running.
¾ Check the fan impeller and the protective grid
regularly for dirt deposits and clean.
Hopper
The twin hopper has a capacity of 5,000 litres
and is divided with a ratio of 2,000 l / 3,000 l.
The hoppers are designed as pressure hoppers.
Twin hopper Focus TD
For drilling the hoppers and the complete pneu-
matic system must be absolutely leak tight. Air
leaks lead to metering errors. The metered
quantity may even drop to zero.
Each time the hopper cover has been
opened, the leak tightness should be
checked with the fan running.
For this purpose switch on the fan and
listen or feel with your hands around the
lid to detect escaping air.
¾ In case of leakages the hopper covers can
be readjusted by the hinges and the locking
levers.
¾ Replace the seals, if required. If the twin hop-
per is used to transport fertiliser over a longer
or bumpy distance, the fertiliser may solidify
inside the hopper.
This may cause heavy starting of the metering
unit and there is a danger of bridging in the
hopper.
The fertiliser must in this case be returned
to a 󰘱owing state, before it is placed.
Seed and fertiliser
The twin hopper can be used for the simultane-
ous output of seed and fertiliser. Fertiliser is
discharged through the front distributor tower
and the tines. Both hoppers can be 󰘰lled with
seed or fertiliser.
Exchanging the hopper ratio
Standard setting:
front hopper (40%): Seed
rear hopper (60%): Fertiliser
Changing the volume ratio:
¾ Change the cell wheels in the metering units.
¾ Fill fertiliser into the front and seed into the
rear hopper.
¾ Switch both valves in the Venturi areas over
to the opposite side and lock them.
¾ Adapt the air quantity.
¾ Enter the new quantities in the terminal for
metering unit I and II.
¾ Perform calibration.
