Checks
The quality of drilling work essentially depends
on settings and inspections.
¾ Before starting sowing you should therefore
carry out all maintenance and service work.
¾ Drilling must be checked when starting work
and, in case of larger elds also regularly in
between!
Machine
¾ Has the machine been hitched up correctly
and are the coupling devices locked?
¾ Have the tractor link arms being locked
against swinging sideways?
¾ Has the tractor link arm hydraulics been
switched to position control mode?
¾ Have the bout markers been set to the cor-
rect length?
¾ Has the machine been levelled and the drilling
depth correctly adjusted?
Cultivation tools
¾ Are coulters, harrows (wear items) and other
cultivation tools and optional equipment still
in a serviceable state?
¾ Do the coulters have sucient pretension and
do they all rotate freely?
¾ Are the scrapers still in good condition and
correctly adjusted?
Pneumatic system
Fan
¾ Is the hydraulic fan connected to a pressure
free return ow?
¾ Are fan and intake grill clean?
¾ Is the fan tightly mounted on the shaft?
¾ Are fan speed and drive pressure not ex-
ceeded? Pay attention to the sticker for fan
speeds.
¾ Is the metering unit equipped with the correct
cell wheel and is the sealing lip still in good
working order?
¾ In the case of small seed, has the cleaning
brush been installed and is it in order?
¾ Is, especially in the case of small seed, the
correct seed quantity being distributed?
¾ In the case of large seed, has the scraper
been installed?
¾ Are all connections, clearing valve and hopper
tightly closed?
¾ Is seed coming out of all coulters?
¾ Are bridges forming in the hopper (particularly
with husky seed)?

Hose system
¾ Are tram line valves installed in the correct
seed lines for the tram lines?
Tram line valves on distributor tower
¾ Has the tram line rhythm been adjusted and
do the motorised valves close?
¾ Are the seed lines for tram lines completely
closed and completely opened?
¾ Are the seed hoses free of sagging, water and
other deposits?
¾ Are all air lines between fan and coulters leak
tight and rmly connected?
¾ Does air ow uniformly out of all coulters?
¾ Does the seed not bounce out of the seed
furrow, or does it remain in the pipes and
cause blockage?
