l Before adding switch modules, contact Huawei technical support engineers to determine
the networking configuration based on site requirements.
l If switch modules are added, the corresponding NICs of the compute nodes must be added.
l Use the Huawei Server Power Calculator to determine the quantity and configuration
policies of PSUs. For details about PSU configuration policies, see 2.5.4 PSU
Configuration Policies.
l Determine whether to add fan modules according to the quantity of compute nodes after
capacity expansion. Fan modules are configured based on the following guidelines:
– When a chassis houses eight or fewer half-width compute nodes, or four or fewer
full-width compute nodes, install fan modules in slots 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and
14.
– When a chassis houses more than eight half-width compute nodes or more than four
full-width compute nodes, fully configure fan modules.

Step 2 Install the modules to be added. For details, see 3 Installing the E9000.
Step 3 Log in to the MM910 WebUI and click the expansion modules and existing modules to view
and record their software versions.
