Replacing a SATA/SAS Re-driver Card or SATA/USB Converter
Card
1. Prepare the 7226 Storage Enclosure for Service. See Preparing the 7226 Storage Enclosure for Removal or Installation
of a Storage Device or Other Component for the correct procedure.
Note: The 7226 Storage Enclosure does not need to be extended from the rack for this procedure.
2. Determine the location of the SATA/SAS re-driver card or SATA/USB converter card to be replaced.
3. The DVD drive that attaches to the card should be removed to ease the replacement of the card. Remove the DVD Drive
from the Slim Drive Tray. Push the latch 1 up toward the drive and begin to pull the drive out of the Slim Tray. Grasp the
drive 2 and slide it out of the enclosure.

4. To remove the Slim Drive Tray, push the drive latch 1 toward the Tray and begin to pull the tray out of the enclosure.
Grasp the Tray 2 and pull the assembly out of the drive bay. Disconnect the cables 3 from the re-driver and converter
cards on the rear of the assembly.
Note: Only one cable is shown. More cables may be present.
