p2 Section 9. Terminal Programming. Version 1.02 CONCEPT IQ. Installation & Programming Manual.
COMMISSIONING THE TERMINALS
1. Enable Terminal Configuration Mode.
Method 1: Remove power from the Terminal.
Hold down the <NEXT> and <HOME> keys.
Re-apply power to the Terminal.
Release the <NEXT> and <HOME> keys.
Method 2: Hold down the <NEXT> and <HOME> keys.
Short the “RST” (Reset) link on the rear of the Terminal.
Release the <NEXT> and <HOME> keys.
2. Note the current Address setting.
The current Address of the Terminal will be displayed via the Zone 1 to 4 Lamps.
The Zone Lamp number that corresponds to the current Address will flash.
3. Select the new Terminal Address number.
Press the key that corresponds to the required Address (1 to 4) within 10 seconds, then press <ENTER>.
When the <ENTER> key is pressed, a Standard Terminal will now exit Terminal Configuration Mode.
4. Note the current Door Alarm enable status. ENHANCED TERMINALS ONLY.
After the Terminal Address has been entered as per Step 3, the display will now show the current Door Alarm enable
status: 0 = Disabled (Default)
1 = Enabled
5. Enable / Disable Door Alarm. ENHANCED TERMINALS ONLY.
If an Enhanced Terminal is required to generate the Door Alarm to indicate a “Door Forced” or “Door Held” condition,
then “Door Alarm” must be enabled for that Terminal.
To Enable or Disable, select the option required (0 or 1) within 10 seconds, then press <ENTER>.
When the <ENTER> key is pressed, the Enhanced Terminal will now exit Terminal Configuration Mode.
6. Initialize the LAN.
When all Terminals are configured and connected to the Control Module via the system LAN, the LAN must be
initialized by Removing and Re-applying power to the Control Module.
Remember to disconnect the battery also when removing power.
NOTE: Not required if Terminals are commissioned before the “CLK” and “DATA” wires are connected to the Control
Module.
DOOR UNLOCK TIME Default = 5 Seconds (All Terminals)
Relevant to Enhanced Terminals only.
This Address sets the time that the Lock Auxiliary output on the Enhanced Terminals will remain on, to unlock
the associated Door.
ACCESS CONTROL NOTES:
1) MAXIMUM DOOR OPEN TIME. The Maximum Door Open Time is 4 x Unlock time.
e.g. If the Door Unlock time is 5 Seconds, the Maximum Door Open Time will be 20 Seconds.
2) DOOR ALARMS:
-DOOR HELD (DOTL). If the Door Reed input on the Enhanced Terminal remains un-sealed for longer than
the Maximum Door Open time after a valid Door Access event, a Door Alarm will be generated for that Door.
-DOOR FORCED. If the Door Reed input on the Enhanced Terminal goes un-sealed without a valid Door
Access event, a Door Alarm will be generated for that Door.
-The system does not differentiate whether a Door Alarm is caused by a “Door Held (DOTL) or “Door Forced”
condition.
5) DOOR RE-LOCK.
If the Door Reed switch is connected to Zone 2 on the Enhanced Terminal, the system monitors the state of
the Door (Opened or Closed), and detects when the Door is opened after being un-locked.
This allows the system to cancel the Lock Auxiliary (“Clip” the Door Unlock Time) as soon as the Door is
opened, ensuring that the Door is re-locked when it closes, and preventing Door “bounce”.
