Section 10. Comms. Version 1.01 p3CONCEPT IQ. Installation & Programming Manual.
Comms
DIALER OPTIONS Default = No options selected.
Dialer options allow various reporting and remote control options to be selected.
The Installer can select the different types of messages that are to be sent to a remote Central Monitoring
Station (Base station), or to a Telephone; and whether DTMF remote control is allowed.
Depending on the customer requirements, any or all of the message types, 1 to 5, listed below can be
transmitted:
Option: When selected:
1 Alarms are reported via Dialer.
2 Restorals are reported via Dialer.
3 Area Openings / Closings (Area Offs / Ons) are reported via Dialer.
4 Programming changes are reported via Dialer.
5 Opening reports will only be sent if an alarm has occurred in the previous Armed period.
6 Remote control with DTMF Card is enabled. NOTE: While a remote telephone has connected to
the system to perform DTMF remote control functions, Upload/download via the dialer is
temporarily disabled.
7 Isolates are reported via Dialer.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not select any options 1 to 5, unless a Dialer Reporting format has been selected.
MAXIMUM DIAL ATTEMPTS Default = 10 Attempts.
This Address sets the maximum number of dialing attempts the system can make to contact the Central
Monitoring Station or Domestic Telephone.
The system will alternate betwen the Primary and Secondary Telephone numbers for each attempt.
This setting represents the total number of attempts on both Telephone numbers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Regulatory authorities may limit this number. (In Australia, ACA specify a maximum of
10 attempts. ACA Approval will be void if Max Attempts is set to a higher value)
When the maximum number of attempts has been reached, and no connection is made, the Comms Fail
System Input will be activated. The system will wait 30 minutes before attempting to dial again. (This wait
period is a regulatory requirement)
