37 Checking Out and Verifying the System

1. Press a button on the controller to activate the screen.
2. Make sure the controller screen displays POOL or SPA in the lower right of the screen.
3. Set the pool or spa temperature to 5 degrees higher than the current reading.
4. Turn the pump ON to activate the heater. The circuit 5 LED on the receiver or HTR1 LED for POOL
or HTR2 LED for SPA on the P5043ME Expansion Module will illuminate, indicating the heater is
functioning.
5. If the heater does not operate, set the heater thermostat to high or maximum.
6. If the LEDs illuminate, but the heater does not operate, refer to the heater manufacturer’s manual
for assistance with external temperature controller.
