Troubleshooting
This chapter provides troubleshooting information for the MultiWave system. Follow these
guidelines as needed.

Symptom Possible Cause Corrective Action
The MultiWave controller
is not working.
The controller is idle. Press any button on the controller
to remove it from idle.
The controller batteries
need to be replaced.
Replace the batteries. See
“Installing Batteries in Controller”
on page 15.
Voltage may not be
present at terminals 1 and
2 on the receiver because
voltage selector switch is
not in proper position.
Verify that voltage is present in
terminals 1 and 2 with a voltmeter.
Flip the voltage selector switch on
the receiver to the desired position
(120 or 240 VAC).
Check wiring. Refer to the wiring diagrams in the
Installation Guide to check wiring.
Fuse F1 on the receiver is
blown.
Replace the fuse. See “Replacing
Fuse F1 on the Receiver” on page
50.
The controller is not
communicating with the
receiver.
The controller and receiver
are not linked.
Perform the procedure “Linking the
Controller to Receiver” on page
19.
The controller is not
communicating with the
receiver in certain areas
on your property.
The antenna needs to be
moved to a different area
on the property.
Perform the procedure “Remoting
the Antenna” on page 20.
On pool/spa combination
systems, the controller
is not activating the
motorized valve.
The controller is not
congured for a pool/spa
system.
Set the controller to Both. Perform
the procedure “Conguring Pool,
Spa, or Both in Controller” on page
23.
Water ow is incorrect. Adjust the motorized valve
synchronization.
Water or moisture is
inside the controller
screen.
The controller needs to be
dried out.
Dry out the controller.
Make sure the battery gasket is
present and not damaged.
The controller screen is
locked up.
The batteries need to be
replaced.
Replace the batteries. See
“Installing Batteries in Controller”
on page 15.
