Connecting the bus
The two connections "Link A" and "Link B" are suitable for M12 connectors, 4-pin, D-coded, pin
assignment according to IEC 61076-2-101.
The MultiControl is equipped with an integrated 2-port switch. As a result, the MultiControl can
be integrated, for example, in line structures of the bus wiring.
➢ Observe the installation guidelines of the corresponding bus systems:
• PROFINET: PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI), www.profibus.com
• EtherCAT: EtherCAT Technology Group, www.ethercat.org
• EtherNET/IP: ODVA, www.odva.org
➢ If a connection remains unused, seal it with an M12 dummy cap to achieve IP54 protection.
On both sides of the MultiControl it is possible to connect the shielding of the bus
cables. This minimizes EMC problems.
