5.4.7 Setting of the Main Bang Suppression
Main Bang Suppressoion is adjusted to suppress main bang. A reflection signal form a 3D circuit including
wave guide tube, which generally appears as a circular image focusing on the center of the radar display.
Optimum adjustment allows main bang image to be dimly lit on the display.
1) Open the Serviceman Menu.
2) Left-click the RADAR/TT Initial Setup > MBS.
The MBS menu will appear.
3) Set the radar as shown below.
Set the range to 0.125NM.
Set the radar video enhance function (ENH) to Off.
Set the correlation processing function (PROC) to Off.
Rotate [RAIN] control to the minimum positon (counterclockwise fully).
Rotete [GAIN] control to the maximum position (clockwise fully).
Rotete [SEA] control to achieve the strength with which main bang can be judged.
4) Adjust the MBS Level value to eliminate the main bang.
5) Adjust the MBS Area value to eliminate the main bang.
6) Left-click the Exit button.
