2.4 Precautions
2.4.1 Insatallation of Scanner Unit
1) Precautions for transporting and storing the scanner
・ An scanner is a heavy load. Be very careful about handling it.
・ Do not allow the scanner fall on its side while it is stred or being installed.
・ Do not apply rope to the scanner in the way that squeezes or deforms
theradiating section.
・ When hoisting the scanner by a crane, do not hoist it by attaching a belt
orrope only to the scanner’s radiating section as shown in Fig 2-5.
・ For the S-band must put and lift up the belt and the rope to eyebolt four
places for lifting up that is attached to the chassis (Fig 2-6).
Use suitable rope in length so that the distance from the crane’s hook to
the hoisting eyebolts will be over 2.5m.
Use the protector attached on the radiator before delivery, an additional
protector shuld be not used.(Because excessive protector causes damage
to the radiator’s redome)
After installation of the scanner, remove the protector from the radiator.
If the rope is attached to the scanner’s support section located at the
bottom of the radiating section, a load is imposed to the joint between the
radiator and the chassis. Work according to above mentioned method.
・ For the X-band, wrap a cloth around the scanner's support section located
at the bottom of the radiating section, and then attach a belt or rope to it to
hoist the scanner (Fig 2-7)
