5-17-2. Adjusting the Tension of the STBL Driving Timing Belt
To adjust the tension of the BU driving
timing belt, loosen the encoder unit fixing
screws and move the assembly in the arrow
direction, input the said values to the sonic
belt tension meter (manufactured by
UNITTA), measure the tension at the
locations shown below, and then adjust the
tension within the required range.

Attach a lever dial to the OCC camera
bracket of the head and measure the flatness near the center of each area marked with a circle
shown in the figure below and adjust each flatness to the specification value (three locations).
Loosen the fixing screws and turn the adjustment screw at the center to change the height of the
support table. The highest position of three positions is used as reference (kept fixed) and adjust the
height in the down direction (screw tightening direction).

• Flatness of the top surface of the support table is 0.02 mm or less.
• Alignment between the rail guide shaft and side beam is 1 mm ± 0.5 mm (dimension A).
• Gap between the YA-linear guide and side beam is 12.5 mm (dimension a).
Note 1) If the adjustment screw becomes loose, the ball screw may be removed. Therefore,
carefully perform the work to prevent such troubles.
Note 2) Adjust the flatness of the support table with the support table located at a position of
-27mm using manual operation.
