Remove the muffler.
Remove the fixing nuts of the rear wheel.
Remove the rear wheel.
Remove the brake shoe assembly.
* Note
• Replace the brake shoe assembly.
• If the brake shoe will be used again, mark it before
disassembly so as to reinstall it at the original place.
Remove following assemblies from the rear wheel.
Rear brake:
1. rear swing arm mounting bolts12
2. rear brake swing arm assembly11
3. rear wheel fixing nuts5
4. rear indicator8
5. rear brake return spring10
6. rear brake camshaft9
7. brake shoe assembly6
8. brake shoe spring7
9. outer tire E11 75R 000216
10. rear rim assembly 3.50×12
Note: for breakdown details, see P80.
5.4.2 Check
Check whether the brake drum and the brake shoes are
abraded. Replace it if necessary.
Measure the maximum brake shoe thickness and the
maximum inner diameter of brake drum.
* Note
• Measure the brake shoe thickness and the inner diameter of
brake drum with micrometer.
If the thickness of the brake shoe is below the required value
for maintenance or it is stained with grease, please replace it.
Note: replace brake shoes in pair.
Inner diameter of the rear brake drum φ110mm
Thickness of rear brake shoe 4.5mm
Limit for use: inner diameter of brake drum 111mm
brake shoe 3.5mm
