[SENSe:]CAPacitance:RANGe:AUTO {OFF | ON} [, (@<ch_list>)]
[SENSe:]CAPacitance:RANGe:AUTO? [(@<ch_list>)]
Enables or disables autoranging for capacitance measurements.
Parameter Typical return
{OFF | ON}. Default: ON 0 (OFF) or 1 (ON)
Configure capacitance measurements, and turn autorange on:
CONF:CAP
CAP:RANG:AUTOON
– Autorange thresholds:
Down range at: <10% of range
Up range at:>120% of range
– For capacitance measurements only, when autorange is off, the instrument does not report an overload for read-
ings greater than 120%. Overload only occurs when the algorithm times out because the applied capacitance is
too large for the algorithm to measure. If you apply a DCvoltage or a short to the input terminals in capacitance
measurement mode, the instrument reports an overload.
– Select a fixed range (see [Sense:]CAPacitance:RANGe command) disables autoranging.
– This parameter is set to its default value after a Factory Reset (*RST command).
[SENSe:]CAPacitance:RANGe {<range> | MIN | MAX | DEF} [, (@<ch_list>)]
[SENSe:]CAPacitance:RANGe? [{(@<ch_list>) | MIN | MAX | DEF}]
Selects a fixed range for capacitance measurements.
Parameter Typical return
<range>: {1 nF|10 nF|100 nF|1 μF|10 μF|100 μF}.
Default: AUTO.
+1.00000000E-09
Configure capacitance measurements, and select 1nF range:
CONF:CAP
CAP:RANG 1 nF
–
Selecting a fixed range ([SENSe:]<function>:RANGe) disables autoranging.
–
If the input signal is greater than can be measured on the specified fixed range, the instrument displays Overload
on front panel and returns "9.9E37" from the remote interface.
– This parameter is set to its default value after a Factory Reset (*RST command).
