[SENSe:]STRain:POISson {<poisson_ratio> | MIN | MAX | DEF} [, (@<ch_list>)]
[SENSe:]STRain:POISson? [{(@<ch_list>) | MIN | MAX | DEF}]
This command sets the poisson ratio to be used to convert strain bridge readings on the specified channels. Poisson
ratio is defined as the negative ratio of the strain the transverse direction to the strain the longitudinal direction.
Parameter Typical return
<poisson_ratio> = Numeric value between -0.9999 and +0.5
Default: 0.3
(none)
Set poisson ratio as 0.3 for channel 101:
STR:POIS 0.3 (@101)
[SENSe:]STRain:RESistance {<gage_ohms> | MIN | MAX | DEF} [, (@<ch_list>)]
[SENSe:]STRain:RESistance? [{(@<ch_list>) | MIN | MAX | DEF}]
This command specifies the gage ohm value to be used to convert direct strain measurements on the specified chan-
nel.
Parameter Typical return
<gage_ohms> = Any numeric value between 80 and 1,100 ohms
Default = 120 ohms
(none)
Specifies the gage ohm value to 120 in channel 101:
STR:RES 120 (@101)
[SENSe:]STRain:UNSTrained {<offset> | MIN | MAX | DEF} [, (@<ch_list>)]
[SENSe:]STRain:UNSTrained? [{(@<ch_list>) | MIN | MAX | DEF}]
This command specifies the unstrained bridge offset (can be either voltage or resistance) that will be subtracted
from the strain bridge measurements before the strain conversion is performed strain bridge measurements. You
can select specific channel to read back the initial DUT (device-under-test basic offset or set/clear the needed offset
value.
Parameter Typical return
<offset> = Any numeric value between ± 90
Default = 0.0
None
–
Query returns the type of excitation voltage reference currently set for the sense channel specified by <ch_list>.
– You can measure and specify the offset manually for each channel, or you can use the
SENSe:STRAin:UNStrained:IMMediate command to automatically measure and store the offset for each chan-
nel.
