Measuring a Low-Level Signal
3 Set the center frequency, span and reference level:
Press Frequency > 300 > MHz
Press Span > 2 > MHz
Press Amplitude > 40 > –dBm.
4 Move the desired peak to the center of the display:
Press Peak Search
Press Marker > Marker To > Mkr -> CF
5 Reduce the span to 500 kHz, if necessary re- center the peak:
Press Span > 500 > kHz
6 Set the attenuation to 20 dB:
Press Amplitude > Attenuation > 20 > dB

Note that increasing the attenuation moves the noise floor
closer to the signal level.
7 To allow more of the signal power to pass through the
analyzer, decrease the attenuation to 0 dB.
