TransportingKongsbergMaritimeequipment
Unlessotherwisestatedintheaccompanyingdocumentation,electronic,
electromechanicalandmechanicalunitssuppliedbyKongsbergMaritimecanbeonly
transportedusingmethodsapprovedfordelicateandfragileequipment.
Prerequisites
Transportationmethodsapprovedfordelicateequipmentincludestransportationby
road,rail,airorsea.
Context
Theunitsaretobetransportedinaccordancewithgeneralorspecicinstructionsfor
theappropriateunit(s),usingpallets,transportcases,woodenboxes,orcartonboxes
asappropriate.
Observethepackinginstructions.
Note
Speciallocalrestrictionsconcerningairtransportationmaybeappliedtounits
containingcertaintypesofbatteries.Theseunitsmustbecheckedproperly,andthe
regulationsmustbeinvestigatedbythepacker/shipperbeforetheunitisdispatched.
Procedure
1Ensurethatalllocaltransportationisdoneaccordingtothesamespecicationsas
fortheinitialdelivery.
2Makesurethattheboxcontainingtheunitiskeptdryatalltimes,andsheltered
fromtheweather.
Itmustnotbesubjectedtoshocks,excessivevibrationorotherroughhandling.The
boxwillnormallybemarkedwithtextorsymbolsindicatingwhichwayitistobe
placed.Followtheinstructionsprovided,andmakesurethattheboxisalways
placedwithits“top”facingupwards.
3Makesurethattheboxisnotusedforanypurposeforwhichitwasnotintended
(step,table,etc.).
Intheabsenceofotherinformation,nootherboxesmustbestackedontopofit.
4Handleallboxesandunitswithcare.

DuetothenatureofKongsbergMaritime’ sproducts,andtheextensiveuseof
delicateelectronicparts,allunitsandboxesmustberegardedandhandledas
fragileequipment.
