Theunitmustwheneverpossiblebestoredinitsoriginaltransportationcrateuntilready
forinstallation.
Generalspecications
Duringstorage,eachboxmustnotbeusedforanypurposeforwhichitwasnotintended
(workplatform,table,stepsetc.).
Onceunpacked,allequipmentmustbekeptinadry,noncondensingatmosphere,free
fromcorrosiveagentsandisolatedfromsourcesofvibration.
Note
Donotbreakthesealtoopenacircuitboardpackagebeforetheboardistobeused.
IftheboardpackageisreturnedtoKongsbergMaritimewiththesealbroken,wewill
assumedthattheunithasbeenused,andthenyouwillbebilledaccordingly.
Eachunitmustbeinstalledinitsintendedoperatingpositionassoonaspossible
afterunpacking.Iftheunitcontainsnormalbatteries,thesemayhavebeen
disconnected/isolatedbeforetheunitwaspacked.Thesemustthenbereconnected
duringtheinstallationprocedure.Unitscontainingbatteriesaremarked.
Caution
Unitscontaininglithiumoralkalinebatteriesmustbehandledseparatelyandwithcare.
Suchunitsaremarkedaccordingly.Donotattempttorechargesuchbatteries,open
them,ordisposeofthembyincineration.

details.
Temperatureprotection
Anyunitsthatrequiresprotectionagainstextremetemperaturesareidentiedassuch
intheapplicabledocumentation.Theboxusedtotransportandstoresuchunitsare
clearlymarked,forexample:
Mustnotbetransportedorstoredintemperaturesbelow-5°C.
Othertemperaturelimitsmaybeusedifapplicable.
Ifaunitneedstemperatureprotection,theboxtobeusedforstorageandtransportation
mustbelinedonallwalls,baseandlid,usingminimum5cmthickpolyurethaneor
polystyrenefoam.
Mostsystemunitscannormallybestoredintemperaturesbetween-30°Cand+70°C.
