willreducetheEA440performance.
Procedure:
•ConnecttheEthernetcablefromtheOperatorStationtotheEthernetsocketonthe
WBT.
•IfyouhaveasystemwithmorethanoneWBTyouneedaswitch.
Tip
Werecommendhavingtheswitchinthesonarroom,closetotheWBTs.Thisgives
youonlyoneEthernetcablefromthesonarroomtotheOperatorStation.
ConnectingasynchronizationcabletotheOperatorStation
usinganRS-232serialinterfaces
AnRS-232seriallineconnectionusingtheRequestToSend(RTS)andClearTo
Send(CTS)signalsiscommonwaytoconnecttheEA440toexternaldevicesfor
synchronisationpurposes.ThecableisconnectedtotheseriallineadapteronOperator
Station.
Context
NotethatthiscabledoesnotsupportallthesignalsinthestandardRS-232specication.
Unlessotherwisespecied,thesecablesmustbeprovidedbytheinstallationshipyard.
Important
Observethatlongrunsofunshieldedcablewillpickupnoiseeasily.Thisisbecause
theRS-232signalsarenotbalanced.
