Whenyouhandleelectroniccircuitboardsandmodules,youmustbewareofthedangers
ofelectrostaticdischarge(ESD),bothtoyourselfandtotheequipment.Inorderto
ensuresafetransportandstorage,circuitboardsandotherelectronicunitswillalways
bewrappedinaclearplasticprotectivebag,andthebagwillbesealed.
Procedure
1Lifttheunit,initsprotectivebag,outofthetransportbox.
Note
Youmustneverusethecablestoliftorcarryaunit.
2Placeitinastablepositionontheoororontheworkbench.
3Inspecttheunitfordamage.
aIfaunithasbeendamaged,prepareaninspectionreportstatingthecondition
oftheunitandactionstaken.
bDescribethedamage,andcollectphotographicevidenceifpossible.Return
theinspectionreporttoKongsbergMaritimeassoonaspossible.
4Assumingalliswell,openthebagandremovetheunit.
5Takeoutandkeepthedocumentation.
Youwillneedthedocumentationiftheitemshallbereturnedtous.
6Ifapplicable,opentheunitandcheckinside.
7Removeanypackinganddesiccantmaterialthatmaybefoundinsidetheshipping
containerorbag.
8Collectandkeeptherelevantusermanualsand/orinstallationdocumentsprovided
withtheunit.
Unpackingtransducers
Priortoinstallationoruse,transducers,sonarheadsandhydrophonesmustbeunpacked
fromtheirtransportboxes.Itisimportantthatthisunpackingisdonewithoutinicting
damagetotheequipment.
Prerequisites
Observetheprocedureforunpackingofstandardpartsandunits.
