Asteelconduitisusedtoprotectthetransducercable.Theconduitservestwopurposes.
Itwillprotectthecable,andshielditfromelectricnoise.Dependingonhowthesteel
conduitisterminatedoverthetransducer,itmayalsosecurethewatertightintegrity
ofthevessel.
Prerequisites
Todesign,manufactureandmountthesteelconduit,thefollowingprerequisitesmustbe
met:
•Allrelevantvesselandtransducerdrawingsmustbeavailable.
•Allrelevantworkinstructions,proceduresandstandardsmustbeavailable.
•Thephysicallocationofthetransducerhasbeendetermined.
•Theinstallationmethodhasbeendetermined.
•Thecableglandhasbeeninstalled.
•Allrelevantpersonnel(navalarchitects,designers,skilledshipyardworkers)and
toolsmustbeavailable.
